It's been a heck of a long time since I posted here and things have changed an awful lot.
From my initially fearful forays into the fitness world, I've come on literal leaps and bounds. I've had my share of injuries and illness, some more bizarre than others (if you ever thought bouncing down a concrete staircase on your tailbone would be fun, think again), and some proud achievements.
I've lost and gained weight through regular peaks and troughs in my gym going habits, but mostly enjoyed my long journey. In a similar timescale others would have achieved far more I'm sure, but I always felt I started somewhere behind the curve. Last August, my asthma led to my humiliation as I had to leave a sparring class, and I vowed to give up group cardio sessions then and there.
That said, I've since completed a 10k in Cape Town (it was supposed to be 5k!) and returned to spinning.
This year will see a 10k around Whipsnade Zoo, and cycling around Belgium for a holiday. Watch this space!
